Rachel Beach was born in London, Canada and lives in Brooklyn, NY.  She received an MFA from Yale University and BFA from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. 

Her work has been recognized with several honors including a National Academy Fellowship at the American Academy in Rome, a Pollock-Krasner grant, Canada Council grants and residencies at Yaddo, Sharpe-Walentas, LMCC Process Space, the Lower East Side Printshop and Socrates Sculpture Park.

Her work has been widely presented at venues including the Newcomb Art Museum, New Orleans, LA; The Philbrook Museum, Tulsa, OK; Visual Arts Center of New Jersey, Summit, NJ; The Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, Halifax NS; New Hampshire Institute of Art, NH; PlugIn Institute of Contemporary Art, Winnipeg MA; Lennon Weinberg, NYC; Thierry Goldberg Gallery NYC; Jane Lombard, NYC, LMAK gallery, NYC and Postmasters, NYC.

Her work has been reviewed in The New York Times, Art in America, Sculpture Magazine, Hyperallergic, The Brooklyn Rail, ArtCritical,  NYArts, Visual Arts News, among other publications.
